What is individual counseling?
Individual counseling is therapy that centers your internal experience:
how you understand yourself
how you protect yourself
how you relate to others
how you respond to stress
how you move through the world.
The work is not about “fixing” you but understanding what shaped you, what helped you survive, and what may no longer be serving you.
We’ll explore how formative experiences, trauma, attachment wounds, family dynamics, loss, identity, relationships, and past survival strategies continue to influence your present-day emotions, beliefs, choices, and sense of safety. Our goal will be to understand the emotional logic underneath your patterns and build more intuitive, sustainable strategies for change.
Individual counseling can support healing, self-understanding, emotional regulation, boundaries, grief work, identity exploration, trauma recovery, and relationship patterns. Sometimes the work helps you reconnect with parts of yourself you have had to silence. Sometimes it helps you begin a new chapter with more clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
Individual counseling may help with:
Anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm
Trauma and attachment wounds
Grief, loss, and abandonment
Identity and self-worth
Boundaries and relationship patterns
Life transitions
Understanding why you react, shut down, overfunction, avoid, or spiral
